M-F, hours vary depending on office location, and Saturday rotationSummaryStrong Certified Medical Assistant and Certified Athletic Trainers to work in a clinical setting, within a collaborative healthcare model.
Responsible for providing administrative and clinical assistance including patient preparation and pre-screening, equipment preparation and performing patient care.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential duties and responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Verify patient information by interviewing patients and recording medical history.
Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests including taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature.
Responsible to ensure information is accurately documented.
Prepare equipment, injections, educational materials, etc.
during treatment and examination of patients.
Perform patient care including cast application/removal, splinting, post-op wound care, injections, fitting patients for braces and suture and staple removal.
Communicate with patients and families regarding processes and procedures.
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
Maintain adequate supplies in examination rooms.
Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
Attend departmental meetings as required.
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or ExperienceRequired High school diploma or equivalent.
Two-plus years of relevant medical assistant work experience.
One year of surgical technology work experience.
Knowledge of medical office procedures and the ability to interact with patients, physicians and co-workers.
CPR/AED Certification.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC).
Preferred Completed Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) program.
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by the American Medical Technologists.
Recommended Skills Administration Blood Pressure Cpr Certified Medical Assistant Clinical Works Office Procedures Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
